My name’s Julio.
I’m an adorable bulldog puppy.
I love getting bootie scratches and belly rubs.
I’m pretty stubborn but if there are treats involved, I’m all yours.
The Club Pet Academy is teaching me the basics and I’m loving it!

Dog Training Session 1
Today was Julio’s first day of training. He did great!
We worked on eye contact, sit, down, and basic manners.
He did really well with the beginning steps for eye contact and enjoyed getting the treats for such an easy command.
Eye contact is the foundation for every command Julio will learn with us.
Julio already seems to have a pretty good understanding of sit. We just need to nail down the association between the word sit and the action of putting his bottom down.
When Julio goes to get up from the sit, say “okay” this will act as a release command for Julio and will come in handy for later.
When we worked on down today, we tried various ways. Being a bulldog, Julio has an odd center of gravity so he is not a fan of being lured (following a treat with his nose) into the down position.
When Julio goes to get up from the down, say “okay” this will act as a release command for Julio and will come in handy for later.
Whenever Julio is training with us, he will learn to wait at every doorway until released through.
This is a good thing to practice at home to build your bond and keep Julio safe.
This will become more advanced the better he gets at it.
Practice at every doorway!!!
